Are You Sitting On Your Gift?

Hey friends! I have quite a bit to share with you! Sorry I’ve. Wen missing in action for a bit. I had a death in the family then once I got back, I had to get on the road to New Orleans. I will share more details soon, but for now, welcome to another moment with Shona!

Yesterday, I was just doing some random thinking and it lead me to do a Facebook live video on my like page {LaShona Tyree Fitness}. Remember sometime back I shared that I’m an Artist as well as a mime dancer? Well since that post, I’ve been doing live videos to share my gifts with the world.

I would do Friday freestyles and mime to a Christian song. Or I’ll have my table set up on my patio, grab my spray paints and create something from the top of my head! I love doing things like that & I get a lot of feedback from friends & family and even people I don’t know! I have one friend who is interested in me doing some paintings for his future wife because she loves abstract art.

Just yesterday, my friend contacted me and asked me to mime at her wedding reception. She said she noticed I have a mime ministry and wanted to reach out. I was pretty excited and agreed to do it with no problem, that is until I found out the state she was in was nowhere near Virginia! She was actually back home in Boston, so traveling home was pretty much out of the question. I really hope she finds someone!

I said all of this to say, if I didn’t share my mime ministry or paintings with the world, my friends would not have known I have a ministry or paint to begin with! Bottom line, your gifts and talents do not belong to you. They are to be shared with the world!

Do you realize how many lives you can touch with a small painting or a short poem? Do you realize the lives changed by miming to uplifting songs? Like that’s sticky movement alone. I don’t speak a word when I minister & that makes it even more powerful!

Unleash the gifts & talents God gave you. Your hands, feet and mind are blessed with creativity! If you’re a writer- write! If you’re a fashion designer- create! If you’re a teacher at heart- go out and teach! It’s simple, but at times we forget. Let us all die EMPTY. My favorite author Dr. Myles Munroe spoke about this all the time. Don’t go to the grave full of ideas & creativity. Release all of that while you’re living! Just something to think about.

Until next time, “laugh hard, love harder, capture each moment & sprinkle a little joy in someone else’s life.” – XO Shona

I love this post, Shona! We are so full of purpose and gifts that have been hand-crafted by God but so many of us are afraid to showcase them! This message was so incredibly inspiring and it ignited a fire in me to seek God about other ways that I showcase my gifts. I especially love when you said that we should die “empty”. Amen! I want to be so completely used by God that when I die I have nothing more to give but the legacy that I’ll be leaving behind. Great post, Sis!
