A family that eats together…
Hello friends & happy Thursday! How in the world did the week fly by that quickly!? Beats me… lol!
Well, time just slipped on by because I was meaning to get this up on my blog Monday, but that clearly didn’t happen. My apologies, I’m new at this whole blogging thing, but I’ll be posting according to my schedule, so there will be no room for confusion {wink*} .
So, Monday I asked my views via Facebook and Instagram, what’s one thing new they started to do with their family? I didn’t really get much feedback on that question lol! But, let me just share what I’ve been doing with mine.
The Tyree clan has started eating dinner as a FAMILY every single night! Now, his may seem like a surprise to most people because they experience this moment already. But look, the struggle was real at our house.
First of all, our kids {not our baby} are picky eaters! And by picky I mean, crying, snotting & kicking their feet type picky! Our kids would rather go to bed hungry than eat whatever I cook!
We told them, that type of behavior was ok when they were toddlers, but they are 8.5, 7 & 6 now! They have got to stop acting like the food is going to jump off the table and bite them in the face! Nope, it’s got to stop! Mama & Papa bear have spoken, and that’s that {humph}.
So, I have been cooking healthy meals and having them help me set the table before my husband comes home from work. We have been going strong for 4 days now!
Don’t get me wrong, we still have moments when our 6 year old decides she would rather be stubborn and not eat what I serve, than to at least try A bite. But, this new experience for us will still Stand!
You see, our kids are so used to having me cook 3 different meals for them. I just can’t do it anymore! They will learn how to eat food that will provide great nutrients to their little bodies. They will thank us when they’re older & I guarantee they will have at least one child who is exactly Like them when it comes to eating! Mark my words… lol!
A family that eats together, builds stronger relationships. And we want to always have a strong relationship with our children.
Until next time, “laugh hard, love harder, capture each moment & sprinkle a little joy in someone else’s life.” – XO Shona~
